PRACTICE’S BILLING PRINCIPLES

We bulk bill all patients with a valid Medicare Card. New patients and those who have not attended in the last 2 years, will incur a once off $30 out of pocket fee. 

A private fee will apply to those patients without a valid Medicare Card and is payable on the day of consultation.

Some procedures incur a minimal out of pocket expense, but not if you hold a valid concession card.

CONSULTATIONS:
We generally allocate 10 minutes for a standard appointment. If you require more time with your doctor, please advise the receptionist when making your appointment.
Please note that all appointments take priority to walk ins.

HOME VISITS: 
The doctors in this practice provide home visits only in certain circumstances.
Alternatively, our staff would be happy to refer you to our Locum Service.
In case of emergency please contact the Ambulance Service on 000.

AFTER HOURS:
The clinic provides 24 hours of service. Should you require urgent medical treatment outside the clinic’s opening hours, you can telephone the clinic on (03) 9842 7700 and be directly connected to our Locum Service.
Our receptionists will be able to answer your questions regarding the Locum Service Fees.
Alternatively we suggest you attend Box Hill Hospital, The Austin Repatriation Centre or Knox Private Hospital (fees apply).

EMERGENCIES: 
It may be necessary for some patients to be seen urgently due to their condition. They may take priority to appointments 

DOCTORS ROSTER: 
Please refer to the back of the doctor’s business card for the days and times they are rostered to work. Please note changes may occur slightly when one of the doctors is on leave.

NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING & DEAF PATIENTS: 
The Translator Interpreter Service (TIS), The National Relay Service (NRS) and AUSLAN are available to assist non English speaking and deaf patients during consultation. Please speak to the receptionist to organise any of these services.

FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES:  
Our clinic is equipped for those with special needs, including disabled toilet facilities, a disabled parking space, and an entrance ramp with handrails. We also have a wheelchair to assist people with limited mobility and a height adjustable chair in our waiting room.
